The diamond tipped exfoliating wand works by first using the rough edges of the natural diamonds to gently peel the top layers of the dermis. These dead skin cells are what makes the skin on the face and body appear dull and aged, and their removal is integral in the process of the microdermabrasion. This allows the new skin beneath to become exposed, but this first step can be accomplished with any product that contains skin exfoliants.

The second step, the vacuum suction power of the MicrodermMD, gently and effectively removes those dead skin cells from the face. In addition, the vacuum and suction effect stimulates blood flow beneath the surface of the skin. The combination of the exfoliation, suction, and stimulated blood flow work together to enhance and speed the process of skin renewal.

Following is an overview of the Microderm treatment process:

Wash face with soap and water.
Put a new filter into the vacuum hose end, sterilize the Diamond Peeling Tip, then attach it onto the hose.
Press the Power Button, and choose a peeling intensity setting (Low, Med, or High).
Press the Start Button. The Status Bar confirms the vacuum has started, and indicates the current intensity level.
Hold the Diamond Peeling Tip like a pencil, and lightly drag accross face with short, careful strokes, following the suggested stroking diagram below.
When finished, discard filter and clean Diamond Tip with soap and water using provided brush.
Wipe face with included Soothing Tonic, then mois-turize. Use sunblock for a few days after treatment.
Treatment takes approximately 10 minutes, and can be repeated every 10-14 days depending on skin.
